Thomas Milovac

Thomas Milovac is a bassist, composer/ improviser, arranger, bandleader, visual artist, and producer. Milovac was born into a musical family and found a lifelong passion for performing and composing from an early age, on various instruments including tenor saxophone, clarinet, piano, vibraphone, timpani, double bass, and bass guitar. He has collaborated with artists Ulysses Owens Jr., Ryan Devlin, Steve Cohn, John Lumpkin, Zoh Amba, Doc Handy, Syoma Klochko, Dominick Farinacci, Steve Swallow, Elizabeth A. Baker, Sean Hamilton, Majid Araim, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Renee Baker, and Jonas Van den Bossche. In addition to leading his own ensembles—Thomas Milovac Sextet and Trio, Maxiphony, and the Unit Colossus—he is also a member of BONGUS, the Ryan Devlin Electric Band, and Madre Vaca. In 2021, he founded the record label Cosmo Sonic Collective, focused on releasing improvised music by artists including Paul* Hermansen, Syoma Klochko, and Taylor Rouss.
