The 2024-25 Season

Miller Theatre, under the exuberant direction of Executive Director Melissa Smey, announces its 2024-25 season—a thrilling combination of new and early music, as seen through its core series Composer Portraits, Early Music, and Jazz, alongside community hits Morningside Lights and Pop-Up Concerts.

THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF MILLER'S FLAGSHIP SERIES COMPOSER PORTRAITS

  International Contemporary Ensemble and Quince Ensemble
  perform a program of the MacArthur Fellow's recent works (9/12)
• MIGUEL ZENÓN
  The Grammy-winning composer and saxophonist gathers
  an all-star large ensemble to premiere Golden City (11/14)
• LISA STREICH
  Violinist Miranda Cuckson and Yarn/Wire premiere the Swedish composer's Miller and Venice Biennale commission, ORCHESTRA (2/6)
• MIYA MASAOKA
  International Contemporary Ensemble plays nature-inspired works by the Guggenheim and Rome Prize-winning composer (3/6)
• JESSIE MONTGOMERY
  The Grammy-winning composer and her ensemble, The Everything Band, premiere a Miller commission alongside other works (4/3)

• LUCIANA SOUZA WITH CHICO PINHEIRA (10/5)
  The duo presents an intimate evening of music rooted in jazz and Brazilian traditions
• BILLY CHILDS QUARTET (2/8)
  The renowned pianist makes his Miller debut with an all-star quartet
• RUDRESH MAHANTHAPPA HERO TRIO (3/1)
  The premier alto saxophonist returns to Miller with a program
  inspired by some of his greatest influences

4 LEADING EARLY MUSIC GROUPS FROM THE U.K.
The only NYC appearance for all 4 groups next season

• THE TALLIS SCHOLARS return for their Christmas celebration (12/5)

A SPECIAL EVENT

Pianists SIMONE DINNERSTEIN and AWADAGIN PRATT perform solo and duo keyboard masterpieces by Vasks, Glass, Mozart, Beethoven (10/24)

MORNINGSIDE LIGHTS XII
Concept/direction by Processional Arts Workshop

The 13th annual program brings the Morningside community together for free workshops and an outdoor procession featuring handmade lanterns (9/21 with workshops beginning 9/14)

POP-UP CONCERTS RETURN WITH AUDIENCE ONSTAGE

"Close to the music" takes on new meaning with this spontaneous, free modern music series with free drinks at cocktail hour (concerts announced throughout the season)
